Editorial Policy
The standards that keep our HVAC software reviews independent and trustworthy.
Last updated: June 2026
Independence comes first
Our recommendations are editorial decisions, made by our review team. No vendor can pay to be included, to rank higher, or to have a negative point removed. Advertising and affiliate relationships are managed entirely separately from our editorial process, and the people who write our reviews are not involved in commercial negotiations.
How we decide rankings
Every tool is evaluated hands-on against the same set of real HVAC scenarios and scored on a published, weighted rubric — booking accuracy, ease of setup, HVAC-specific integrations, value per recovered job, and day-to-day usability. The full process is documented in How We Test Software. Rankings reflect that scoring and our reviewers’ direct experience, not a vendor’s ad spend.
Accuracy and sourcing
We verify pricing and features against each vendor’s official sources before publishing, and we date every guide so you know how current it is. Where we cite statistics or third-party data, we link to the original source. We re-check pricing and key features on a regular cadence because software plans change often.
Corrections
We fix mistakes quickly and transparently. If you spot an error — an outdated price, a feature that’s changed, a broken claim — email corrections@thehvacedge.com. Verified corrections are updated promptly, and material changes are noted with an updated date on the page.
Authorship and accountability
Every review and guide is bylined by a named author with relevant HVAC or software experience, and each author maintains a profile describing their background. Our reviewers are accountable for what they publish.
How we make money
The HVAC Edge is reader-supported through affiliate partnerships, disclosed in full in our affiliate disclosure. Commissions never influence our rankings, scores, or which products we cover.
